Build a Paper Rocket!
This activity is ideal for elementary and middle school students!
Materials:
* Two pieces of paper
* Scissors
* Pencil
* Drinking straw
* Ruler
Directions: Cut one piece of paper into four smaller rectangles.
Wrap one of the rectangles around a pencil to form a cylinder and tape the cylinder closed so it doesn’t open.
Slide the cylinder off the pencil, and seal one end of the cylinder closed.
Prepare to launch your first rocket by sliding it over a drinking straw, aiming it forward, and blowing into the straw.
For your second rocket, repeat the initial steps, then cut out two right triangles, fold them in half, and tape them to your cylinder to create fins.
Get creative with fin shapes and see how far you can make your rocket fly!
